Dawn Mathis – Licensed Equine Facilitator & Certified Equine Gestaltist
Description
My lifelong journey with horses began when I first encountered them at three years old in Vicenza, Italy, where a small pony pulling a cart captured my heart. This moment ignited a passion that has shaped my life ever since.
Back in the States, my fascination with horses grew. Despite being shy, I immersed myself in everything equine, from drawing them to reading about them voraciously.
In high school, I found ways to ride and care for horses, which led to learning English riding and jumping.
Just before my senior year of high school, my family moved to Colorado. As a peace offering for uprooting me from my Texas high school, my parents bought me a pack of five riding lessons. While grateful, I knew this was only a rekindling of my equestrian journey.
Life took me away from horses for a while as I pursued a career in physical therapy.
Eventually, I returned to horses, buying my first horse, April Sage and began training her in dressage. She was not only beautiful but also incredibly smart.
Years later, after a serious riding accident that left me with two fractures in my sacrum, I found myself at a crossroads. It was during this challenging time that I discovered the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method developed by Melisa Pearce. This two-year program offered a unique opportunity to combine my passion for horses with my desire to help others heal.
Now, as an Equine Gestaltist and Licensed Equine Facilitator through Touched By A Horse (TBAH). I'm dedicated to facilitating transformation and healing through horses.
